Description
The first Shaker community was established at Mount Lebanon, New York in 1787, and for the next 160 years the community was home to hundreds of Believers known for producing furniture that combined simplicity, functionality, and aesthetics. In 2011 minimalist artist Ellsworth Kelly and photographer Jack Shear toured the historic site with representatives of the Shaker Museum and Library. This film, richly enhanced with archival images of life at Mount Lebanon and photos of the two artists' work, documents their conversation about Shaker architecture and design.
