Death at the Emerald
Her adoring public knew her only as Helen. And her mystique has only grown since she vanished without a trace thirty years ago. A friend of Helen's family, now elderly, can no longer bear not knowing what became of the stunning actress. Only one sleugh is suitable for the job: Lady France Ffolkes. Taking on the role of Lady Sherlock, with her maid Mallow as her ever-faithful Watson, Frances is immersed in the glamorous world of Edwardian theater as well as London's latest craze--motion pictures. Frances and Mallow make their way through the theaters of the West End, meeting such colorful figures as George Bernard Shaw and his majesty, King Edward VII. But time wears on, and tracking the theatres seems like a dead end...until one of Helen's old suitors is found murdered.
