Private Eye Princess King and her beagle, Pants, have come to Snells Manor to try and find Daisy Snells's missing emerald, called the "pea"; nobody has left the house since the gem went missing, but there are many secret places to search, and the inhabitants are an eccentric bunch--none more so than Miss Daisy herself.
