Description
The Shining: Jack, a novelist, takes a job as a caretaker of an old hotel in the mountains of Colorado and takes his wife and son. His son Danny soon starts having visions of the horrible events that have happened there in the past. Jack is then influenced by the spirits and becomes insane and violent against his own family. Danny must use his newly discovered telepathic gifts in order to save himself and his mother from his father's homicidal tendencies.
Description
Doctor Sleep: Danny Torrence is all grown up and well past the murderous events that occurred at the Overlook Hotel. Now, he encounters a girl with the same powers that plagued him as a child. Acting as a guide, he hopes to help her control these gifts. The race to save her from a sinister cult leaves Danny reeling and forces him to face the events that led to those grim days and nights surrounding his father's death.
